I have own this Collins 51S-1 for the last 20 years, It has never has had any mods or upgrades done to it. The radio has been in a smoke free environment. This radio was sold for over $1800 at the start of the 1960's, and was the top of the line receivers for many years. The quality that Collins put in this receiver 40 years ago make this one of the most wanted pieces of Collins equipment today. The 51S-1 is in great working condition and clean. There is some paint damage on top of both transformers. This was caused from some packing material  I had used to store the radio while overseas. It was rated by a C C A. member as in
